What is a black box?
Wikipedia defines a black box as a device, system or object which can be viewed solely in terms of its input, output and transfer characteristics without any knowledge of its internal workings. Anything might be referred to as a black box: a transistor, an algorithm, even the human mind.
What is a bitfire black box?
A Bitfire Black Box is a piece of art with a futuristic photobooth-like functionality. With dozens of customizable presentation and display options, it is designed solely for entertainment. The bitfire black box installed in any configuration will take your event to a whole new level.
So it’s like an old style photo booth box?
No. Unlike like a traditional booth there are no “walls” or box to step into and the bitfire blackbox can fit virtually anywhere you want it to.
I don’t see any buttons. How does it take a picture?
The box is triggered wirelessly with a small radio transmitter held by a blackbox facilitator or you!
How can the pictures be presented?
A basic black box installation presents pictures constantly via a projector or display. Multiple displays are not uncommon at events. The images can also be posted via facebook and twitter as well as being emailed or printed. We’re also working on an iPhone app.
You can make prints of the pictures? How long does it take? How much do they cost?
With advanced notice, a black box event can provide prints very shortly after they are taken. The cost of the prints varies. We have sold prints individually, on demand, or at a flat fee in bulk as part of an event package. Contact us to get more information.
What’s inside your black box?
Shhh!! It’s a company secret. But we can tell you it’s basically a camera and a computer.
Do you have any other colors besides black?
We currently only offer black, but we have plans for a white box later this Summer. With plenty of advanced notice we can make a custom box at an additional cost.
Anything else I should know?
Bitfire Inc will be happy to help produce your black box event, at an additional charge.
